Breaking news via Reuters otherwise known as the grapevine. We are led to believe that the squad for Sweden to play against Holland and Malta has been selected and if correct, looks to be a strong squad, with the return of a few well known faces. These are the names that we have been informed are in,
Alex Taylor, Sebastian Taylor, Andrew Daish, Magnus McDonald, Lee Sandberg, Matthew Youngman, Viktor Petersson, Mattias Thorhard, Bobby Nave, Thomas Ardvisson, Paul Matthews, Tobias Borg, Ricky Opuku,
Richard Johansson, Fredrik Casselhag, Jan Olf Johansson, Paul Sullivan, Alan Letele, Olof Wadell, Peter Wiklund, Rikard Ornberg, Roger de Jager Tim Johansson.
Looks to be a well constructed squad by Mike Tatu and we wish them well for the matches.

Well thats some line up, that team would of won the last 3 games. Can,t wait to watch the game against Holland..it will be a beauty.
ReplyDeleteThis blog is great so much better than the other...its about swedish rugby not alot of bollocks.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I can tell all this blog does is contradict Neils blog and spend an absurd amount of time to bad-mouth him.
ReplyDeleteKeep away from the mud-slinging and you will do much better.
Well Martin, we have to disagree with you. We do not contradict Neil's blog or bad mouth him, we have tried to paint a picture of him, in one of our posts, which of course is our view. In fact we actually sometimes agree with his points. However, we also have our opinions, as do others, so we publish them. Do you not think that Neil spends a lot of energy criticisng others? That is his right of course, but are we not allowed the same right? Thank you for your contribution, it is appreciated.
ReplyDeletePick your starting XV from this squad!
ReplyDeleteThis is my first post on tureswedenrugby and in the spirit of the blogg it’s going to be positive.
ReplyDeleteThat is a FUCKING AWESOME line-up.
That team is worthy of carrying the yellow and blue colours. Not lite the others made up squads that played late 2008, early 2009.
The last time I saw a team as good as this was against Switzerland away early 2008 when Kanogo was coach.
It's nice to see M. Youngman have made the step into Sweden rugby, he is a class player. Mike x 2 and Karri taking care of the squad if they get a good manager this team can bring a nice feeling around the team and that the best players in the country want to play for there country.
Cracking team, seems to be 4 club captains named.Has a captain been selected ??
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately we do not have the name of the captain, but with four club captains in the squad, plus others with international experience of captaincy, we are sure that Mike T will make the correct call.
ReplyDeleteMikeX2? Is Mike Hale involved in the Team? I just have to say....good luck.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to take a ref with you this time! The names for assistant referees have been sent to the SRF for the games.
ReplyDeleteNot bad. Maybe not enough speed to the breakdown. Possibly some running flat-pass and high-ball issues in the backs, depending on where people are selected. 3 of the backs, most likely centres and wings lack good ball skills. Usually gets shown up against a decent oposition flyhalf. Will be interesting. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see the english based players in the squad!
ReplyDeleteA team of the 22!
ReplyDeleteSince I don’t know who Örnberg or Wiklund is or what club they play for I’ve put them where I think they could be playing.
1. Casselhag 2. R. Johansson 3. MacDonald 4.Viktor 5. Daish 6. Letele 7. De Jager 8. S. Taylor (capt) 9. Sandberg 10. Arvidsson 11. Ricky 12. Alex 13. Youngman 14. Borg 15. Dazzler 16. Janne 17. Thore 18. Örnberg 19. Olof 20. Matthews 21. Sullivan 22. Wiklund.
This ones better
ReplyDelete1 casselhag 2 youngman 3 macdonald 4 viktor 5 daish 6 letele 7 de jager 8 taylor 9 sandberg 10 arvidsson 11 ricky 12 matthews 13 alex t 14 borg 15 bobby
Looks good but Tim could go in at 10.
ReplyDeletegood to see mike hale at the match and meetin players.
ReplyDeleteBackrow looks quick,Daish is a flyer and Taylor is quick.Centres have played well last few games in fact have been the best players.Tims form has been solid at 10 and deserves a go.
ReplyDeleteTwo standsouts in the swedish league is missing: Hannes Eriksson Hammarby and Tim Johansson ERK.
ReplyDeleteSeen that Daish played 12 for Nuneaton last weekend, I would have a backrow of Daish, Letele and Taylor!
ReplyDeleteTim Johansson is included, we have no idea about Hannes Eriksson.
ReplyDelete1 casselhag
ReplyDelete2 janne
3 mac donald
4 victor
5 wicklund
6 daish
7 youngman
8 taylor
9 lee
10 tim
12 matthews
13 sullivan
14 borg
11 ricky
15 dazzler
?? not bad ??
Well that will be OK if Alan Letele was starting and Youngman moved to hooker. Is Sullivan better than Alex?
ReplyDeleteSullivan has had a greay yr leading exiles while Alex has been injured.
ReplyDeleteYou cannot ignore class and I think that is what Mike T will go for, so probably Sullivan at 12 and Alex at 13.
ReplyDeleteCould work Jenny and then push Matthews into 10 where he has played for Sweden before i think against Latvia. But i think he prefers 12 at international level...???That could then free Tim up at fullback possibly. One thing seems certain Mike T has many options.I would go for Sandberg,Tim, matthews, Taylor, Ricky, borg and Bobby.Time will tell..
ReplyDeleteLee
Seen the squad at the union homepage and it looks darn good, but where is Daniel Legge? He is a class player and an option in the lineout that the team need.
