Pitch Layouts.

One of the strange things that occurs in Swedish rugby is the differing pitch layouts or markings. There appears to be a variety of designs throughout the country, so we thought that we might make an attempt to have a uniform layout and perhaps the clubs, if not already doing so, can follow the official design as issued by the IRB and try and get them in place in time for next season. Not shown in the picture are the flags. There are 7 each side, one on each corner of the dead ball line, one on the angle of the goal and touch lines, one 2m from the 22m line , one 2m off the centre line.
We hope this helps.

  1. I Vänersborg så har vi haft problem med vaktmästarna som kritar planerna. De gör fel/vi är otydliga men det har blivit bättre nu det senaste

  2. Wonderful idea, but if you do post a picture of the pitch as it should look, please find one with the 5 m lines (not for line-out, but 5 m in front of goal-line). The 5 and 15 m lines of the line-out stop at the 5 m line in front of the goal line. Furthermore, there are no circles on the half-way line, nor on the 22 m lines.

    Cheers.

  3. And ofcourse the flag on the 22-m line is also at least 1 meter away from the touch-line, not on it.

    Hope this helps.

  5. The flags marking the 22 metre line and half way should be 2 metres outside the playing area.

  6. Smug, condescending and once again just plain wrong.

"We hope this helps". No it does not help anyone if you publish inaccurate information. You are not true rugby.

  7. Thanks for your comments and we apologise for any misleading information. As you will see we have changed the picture to rectify our error. we are a loss about the circles mentioned, but perhaps we can be enlightened on that as well?

  10. If you really do want to be correct and up to date use this link http://www.irblaws.com/EN/downloads/ and check out Law 1: The Ground. You will see that the 15 metre line is now a continuous dotted line.
