As expected, Enkoping walloped Spartacus 81-14. This was a fine return to form for ERK after their drubbing by Exiles two weeks ago. Perhaps that result was a kick up the backside that they needed as they flew at the visitors from the off and were soon on the scoreboard. From then on, apart from a 10 minute period in the second half, it was one way traffic. Although the visitors have some long term injuries to key players, they appear to be going backwards at the wrong time of the season, they must be pleased that they have already made the semi-finals? Cannot see them making any impression in those games and next week they have yet another away game to the mighty Exiles who are flying. As for Erk, they will take confidence from this result and will relish facing their next opponents.
Hammarby traveled to Goteborg and achieved yet another win. This match was no walk in the park and the visitors struggled to overcome the home side, who never stopped battling and until he received a red card, had the man of the match on their side. Once he was dismissed though, Hammarby were able to apply more pressure and run out comfortable winners by 13-32.
On this showing Hammarby could lose their final match of the series against a resurgent Enkoping, whilst Goteborg could cause an upset against Pingvin although the red card in this match, could prove costly.
Exiles went to Pingvin and completely dominated the game, showing the watching spectators, just why they are favourites to win gold this year. With their multitude of imports getting used to playing together, they are looking very professional and appear to have the attitude, (Nobody likes us, but we don't care). Pingvin tried valiantly, but without the resources of their illustrious opponents, were always on the back foot. Eventually Exiles ran out winners by 7-54, a consolation try for the home side may just be the spur they need for next weeks dogfight against Grf. Exiles will be looking to entertain Spartacus at home and will no doubt be full of confidence for that encounter.

When reflecting upon the Exiles score the following should be considered. Only score Pingvin managed was an iffy penalty try, 4 - 5 Exiles tries were (incorrectly) disallowed and a series of late tackles on Exiles 10 were ignored. It's tough being an away team in Skåne...
ReplyDeleteBring em on!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSpartacus should never be taken lightly especially when playing them at home. All of the leading teams have struggled to take away points when playing them at home.
ReplyDeleteAs Hammarby found last week sitting on a bus for 6 hours and then having to play a game of rugby is not great.
It must be hard for a team like Spartacus each week to find the energy to travel north.
Apart from Spartacus' coach I think the whole team needs to be congratulated on how well they have done this year.
As for rumours I have heard that Hammarby have been resting the majority of their top players over the past few weeks and plan to run a B side out against Enkoping.
You are right - Exiles who cares.
Rumour has it Exiles have sent 9 of their starting 15 to a coaching clinic in England for the week and thats why they will field a seconds team this weekend.
ReplyDeleteExiles have in fact flown in the Springboks to cover for the fact 9 of their starting players have apparantly gone to england to take part in a coaching clinic.
ReplyDeleteExiles obviously feel that due to the current nature of the first team squad that they need all the 20 year old to get their coaching certificates before they return to England, Australia, South Africa etc at the end of the season.
To compensate for this truly ingenius development strategy, Smity and the boys will be in town to take on Attila, whilst the Exiles u13's step up to deal with Spartacus.
Look at the table. If Exiles win and Enköping turn over Hammarby then Exiles could finish top of the league...same points in the series, but who has scored the most tries??? Anyone know?
ReplyDeletemeans that rugby in sweden is AMATEUR, and exiles and enköping ,give money to the players ,so tahts mean that they are cheating ...

ReplyDeleteNo, exiles can not win since Hammarby won the first game against exiles by 8 points and exiles the second by 6 points
Exiles can´t win since Hammarby have extra points on them internally. Smitty and the boys will be in town???
ReplyDeleteHammarby can't lose first place because they beat Exiles in the first round by more than what Exiles beat them in the second half. Well done Hammarby!! A truly Swedish team
ReplyDeleteExiles haven't gone to a coaching clinic the players have just gone home to visit their families since most of them are from the UK. The rest are from Australia, South Africa, Spain, etc. They should be called the Stockholm United Nations. However, in all fairness I do think they have 2 players who qualify for the Swedish National team.
ReplyDeleteHear is another rumour.....The Hammarby Coach, who was brought out here by Exiles and has done a fantastic job getting them to the top of the table, has been offered big money by Exiles to come back and coach them during the Finals
ReplyDeleteThe assistant coach at Hammarby was also at Exiles and won 3 SM Golds with junior sides before he supported the Aussie Coach that Exiles brought out and then they got rid of both of them and they teamed together and have helped Hammarby to the top of the table. Imagine if Exiles actually held onto all of their talented players and coaches rather than driving them away.

Current Swedish National player Ricky Okpu has been trying for two months to transfer to another club but has been told by the Swedish Rugby Union that he can't. However when Exiles put through 4 transfers they were all accepted by the Swedish Rugby Union. Who runs rugby in Sweden?
ReplyDeletewhy is everyone surprised that a team called the exiles has foreign players? i know it is not very socialist to be rich and successful, but lets face it,we are. Now i must go, my Armani suit is at the dry cleaners and the helicopter is waiting.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why Exiles would have to go to UK for coaching. Can someone explain to me. Do they not have a coach. Surely with all their money they must have coach
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of rumours, i hear that the kiwi Hammarby 10 might be out of the finals because of a hand injury. If that is true, it could be a big loss for the green and whites. I really dont think that exiles would want the Hammarby coach back! I hear there is alot of hate between the two
ReplyDeleteSpartacus is a club ,not just a team, people that play in spartacus love this game, and we make our first semi-final,in elite series, play against the best teams in sweden is an honour for us,if exiles want to put a B, or C ,or U13 teams against us,is their problem, we spartacus we r going to play against any team that is going to be on the pitch on saturday. have a great game

Damn spellchecker...
ReplyDeletetheres just so much exposure here if anyone wants to see tony grothe and the sex offenders main stage at Arsta after the games on sat. sharpe 6 pm bring ur sisters
