Men's National Team Training Camp.

After a period of inactivity, it is nice to see that a training camp has now been organized. This camp is being held on the 26/27th March 2011 at Täby IP in Stockholm.
There appears to be no players based in England selected for the camp and we can only surmise that is because of costs. Although to bring a new face from Ireland will be quite expensive. this at least proves that the management are scouring the world to bring fresh talent to the squad. Even more impressive are the number of new faces selected, from clubs struggling to make any impact in the leagues below the Elite. It is clear to see how Attila can get there players selected, but Vanersborg's numbers have also increased and that appears to smack of bias. A question that begs to be asked, in our view. Were the coaches of all the clubs asked for their views about their players? After all some of them have not been playing since the end of September and consequently may not have any fitness, could be injured or may not be interested.
Notwithstanding that question and views, we hope the camp is successful and that the players produce the goods.

  1. Always picked on who is in favour! not on results! Watching the Håckes cup! absoloutely awful standar of rugby and refereeing! Sweden aiming for a place in the olympics for 7 man rugby! Eric the eel has got a better chance of beting Phelps!

  3. Don´t you think the players from Vänersborg and Attila should be there or is it just that you don´t like these clubs?

  4. It has nothing to do with liking those clubs! But let's face it, neither of them have really done anything of note. Atilla may have made it into the Elite this season and if they can perform well against much better opposition then the record of those players will be far more impressive. Vanersborg have been trying to reach the Elite for a few seasons now and have failed to do so. The players are competing against inferior opposition (compared to the Elite) each week, and still they cannot gain promotion. Those are the facts that we have looked at, there are other clubs from below the Elite that have representation but not in the quantity of Attila or Vanersborg.

  5. Heineken you are a bitter person, and always will be. Kicked out at National team level after being found out exactly how in capable you were. If you have a problem with the XVs selection or the 7s selection then why can you not contact the respective FK and get an explanation? Or would you still manage to twist the truth? Don`t be so angry, but it must hurt that no team wants you.

Enjoy another lonely season on the sidelines.

  6. But if the players are good does it really matter where they play? I think it is good to try players from teams like Pingvin, Södertälje, Attila, Vänersborg and so on... No players from Göteborg though..?

  7. Face it, the young Swedish talents does not play in the elitserien. There are too many foreigners playing there. Teams like Pingvin, Södertälje, Vänersborg and Trojan, there is the future.
How many swedish players under 23 is playing in the elite, 5? 7?

  8. In Enkoeping there are 12 players under 24 and if you count foreign players who don´t live in Sweden there are 15 in the squad, so I think there are at least more then 30 players in the elite altogether?

  9. 12 players under 24 in Enköpings First XV? I highly doubt it!!!

  10. Sorry it´s not 15 players in the squad, it´s 18 players born between 1986 - 1993 with them who are coming and play with us 2011 : ) Tobias, Tim, Jim, Dzenan, Sami, Ted, Kotto, Senad, Adil, Viktor, Per, Johan, Knutsson, Tor, Johan H, Insulander, Eddy, Grillan and maybe some more junior. So you know nothing as usual just writing what you think : ) Arne supporter

  12. "Face it, the young Swedish talents does not play in the elitserien!"
    That was the question!
Not if they will win the SM-gold 2011.

  13. Aparently the whole exiles team is back this year apart from the 7 and 15 although Hannes from Hammarby has joined them.
If that is the case I can't see either Enkoping or Hammarby challenging them.

  14. The word coming back from the training camp is that there were a lot of players there who really should not be considered at that level! Any more insights?
